NPO launched NPO Luister as the free app for podcasts and radio. Dawn Technology developed the platform to give listeners fast, personalized access to hundreds of podcasts and live radio stations, anytime and anywhere.
Listeners expect instant access to audio content, tailored to their interests and mood. With a growing podcast library and millions of users, NPO needed an app that could deliver personalized recommendations while remaining fast, reliable and easy to navigate.
The challenge was to combine large-scale content delivery with smart personalisation, without delays or interruptions even during peak usage.
We extended NPO’s existing radio apps to create NPO Luister, available on iOS and Android. The app offers access to more than 400 podcasts and live radio stations, all organised in a personal library.
A key focus was performance. We developed a solution that ensures podcasts load instantly and play smoothly, even with large numbers of concurrent users. In addition, the app was integrated with NPO’s recommendation module. Using data-driven algorithms, the system delivers personalised suggestions based on listening behaviour, ensuring relevant content without friction.
NPO Luister gives users full control over what they listen to, when and how. With fast performance, personalized recommendations and a clear interface, the app truly listens to its users. For NPO, this results in a scalable and future-proof audio platform that supports both discovery and loyalty.
